Recycled PET is a synthetic material obtained from plastic waste collected from landfills and oceans as part of environmental cleanup projects. These recycled alternatives turn waste into something useful. Additionally, producing recycled materials typically requires much less energy than producing virgin fibers. We selectively use recycled synthetic materials when they contribute to garment durability, fit and performance. Our swim shorts are made entirely from recycled PET materials.

Our green vision means that every single piece of our sustainable swimwear, from fabric to packaging, is made from 100% recycled, sustainable and largely biodegradable materials. The accumulation of plastic in our oceans has passed crisis point; By 2050 there will be more plastic in our oceans than fish. Therefore, we strive to reduce the amount of plastic in our oceans as much as possible during our environmentally friendly production process. We collect plastic bottles and other waste from our oceans to make ANDREW & COLE swim shorts. OUR PROCESS:
A pair of ANDREW & COLE swimming trunks are made from five reused plastic bottles collected from our oceans and landfills. We support and work with REPREVE, which collects plastic waste from the oceans and landfills. This plastic waste is processed sustainably into our high-quality fabric. The waste material is shredded, ground, washed, melted and converted into high-quality chips that are used to make the fiber. The fiber is formed into yarn through spinning and texturing. This yarn is processed into a tailor-made, highly technical recycled fabric according to strict specifications. The result of this amazing process is a fabric that is light, soft, water-repellent and dries in minutes.
